The tool is basically just that, it takes out the tangles in the hair. Like i said in my welcome message, I'm no hair guru.
This is the one that I have. I have to say that I actually really love this tool in my new arsenal of hair tools. I have currently a Sew-in, as i mentioned in my welcome message last night, I was untangling the hair I have sewn-in. I was at a loss when i found out that I have a kanekalon, but rather the chemical that the hair is coated in. I washed it in the shower as recommended by the hair goddesses. (ulovemegz, EbonyCprincess and Buildablebeauty) I even did twist in the wet wavy remy that I had installed, however, one day down when sleeping is when the snarle begin.
Ok, so I've had a couple of sew-in's before, I've even manged two months at maximum, but this time I was completely irritated by it. I don't know if its the actual hair that i have or my lack of weave care knowledge, I ran to YouTube to learn more about what I should be doing to care for my hair. When I say this I mean it, i'm a complete hair novice, yes I'll admit I'm a hair novice. My hair weaves were always tangled up to the point where I was no longer loving my curly-cue hair or waves. I really wanted to take every last one of the sew-in's that I've had down after the first week. So why do this again you ask? to challenge my self and my relaxer stretch.
So I let the hair get tangled beyond recognition, well not that bad, but bad enough to drive someone crazy that knows better. After my wash I slept on my hair un-wrapped and un-twisted. for the hair novice, those are huge and I mean HUGE MISTAKES TO DO WITH A SEW-IN. After two days I went about life and realized that my hair was horrible no matter how much finger combing I was doing it still had horrible tangles.
I then remembered all my trips to Sally's Beauty Supply and the Tangle Teaser, I initially bought this tool to help with my daughters natural hair when de-tangling her hair after washes.and you know natural hair can be unruly at times. I had still had not used it on her hair, I reached for the Tangle Teezer that I bought in one of the many bags I had in my bathroom. I embarked on un-traveled territory with the rescue of my sew-in and attempt to rescue it from the tangles and try to not cut out the knots.
I was brushing in my hand and it then took the knot and tangle out completely! I was way too excited about it and then went on to doing the worse section, the nape of the sew-in, it took all but one knot out I had to cut it. However, the Tangle Teezer is going to be a staple in my household to rescue hair tangles and tragedies. Would I recommend this tool to others. Yes. Why? because it really does what was intended to do, if you have long hair or APL (arm pit length) hair that gets unruly or if you let it go one day from being lazy, you will need this to help out and maintain the hair.
And its kept me from taking down my sew-in after the first week of hair hardship :)

ReplyDeletelove the blog. I use a similar product to this called the Hair Bean(cause its shaped like a bean) and I love it too. I have been naturral for 11 years and just picked this up in the past few months. It makes detangleing my hair a breeze now. With this I love my natural hair that much more.
